Formula Student · FSAA 2027 · Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland
We are an aspiring team of young engineering and car enthusiasts from La Garenne International School who aim to participate in the Formula Student competition as the first ever high school team globally.
Our mission comprises building a competitive racing car that complies with FS regulations, participating in all stages of the competition, and developing a complete business model. These steps are pivotal to maintaining our place alongside world-class universities.
The competition was originally designed for undergraduate engineering students. The rulebook explicitly restricts participation to university-enrolled individuals. But the rules also grant organisers ultimate veto power, and that is exactly the opening we needed.
After 45 years of Formula Student competition history across every continent, no high school team has ever entered the race. We are changing that in August 2027.
Formula Student is an international engineering competition where university teams design, build, and race a small formula-style car. It is not just about speed. Teams are judged across engineering design, cost efficiency, business presentations, and on-track performance. The competition takes place in countries including Spain, Italy, the UK, Brazil, the USA, Australia, Japan, and Croatia, all following the same core rulebook from FS Germany.
Formula Student Alpe Adria (FSAA) is one of the official European Formula Student competitions, taking place in Croatia on the Bugatti-Rimac test track. The event is sponsored by Rimac Automobili and attracts university teams from across Europe.
We contacted the organisers of Formula Student branches from more than 10 countries. We got in direct touch with Mr. Tibor Kezelj, the founder and organiser of the FS Alpe Adria event himself. After a meeting with one of our team representatives, he gave his clearance and expressed support for our participation in FSAA 2027 as a high school team.
Once we confirm our partnership arrangements, FSAA will release an official document confirming our clearance to compete alongside established university teams.
As the first high school team in Formula Student history, every aspect of our project carries greater weight. These are the values that define how we work.
We compete against the world's top engineering universities. Our work must meet that standard in every detail, from design to presentation.
Building a competitive, regulation-compliant race car from scratch, supported by mentors including a former senior F1 chassis designer.
No high school team has ever done this. We are not replicating what exists; we are creating an entirely new category of competitor.
A Swiss team representing precision, quality, and boldness. We aim to prove that age is no barrier to competing at the highest level.
Initial partnerships, sponsorship outreach, and securing a university partnership to confirm our Group A participation status.
3D modelling, engineering calculations, and rechecking all component specifications against the FSAA rulebook requirements.
Parts ordering, chassis fabrication, and full vehicle assembly. Working with our network of mechanics, suppliers, and aerospace engineers.
Vehicle testing, performance optimisation, and comprehensive competition preparation across all static and dynamic events.
